Proud of our girls and their 5th place finish at the UIL State Championships on Saturday, November 8th. Complete results can be found by clicking on the link below. These girls have represented Clyde very well all year, and they gained some great experience competing on a BIG stage. Congratulations to Tristen Brashear for a fabulous Senior year in cross country and a great high school running career! The Lady Bulldogs will be back in 2015 and hungry for a chance to get on that state podium. Congratulations to all of our cross country runners on a very memorable season!!
I would like to say a special thank you to the following people:
Maw Maw Gordon–thank you for capturing this season with your camera! These kids will have such great memories of the year because of all your pictures and special attention!
Clyde CC parents–thank you for getting your kids up early to run and supporting them in such a positive way; thank you for entrusting them to me and allowing me to coach them.
Clyde administration–thank you for giving us the resources we needed to be successful in this sport! Thank you for your support throughout the season.
Clyde Booster Club–thank you for our uniforms that definitely stood out at STATE; thank you for designing our shirts throughout the season, and Trina Riley thank you for all your work and support!
Coach White–thank you for your work with our JH runners, preparing them for success in high school! Thank you to you and Coach Loper for getting the basketball season going while we continued to train in cross country.
Coach Munoz & Coach Jones–thank you for working with many of our runners during 8th period and helping them feel great on race day!
Stephanie and my kids–thank you guys for being a part of this season! For being there to share in it and celebrate it. Love ya’ll.
I would like to leave this quote for my CC runners–“Those at the top of the mountain, didn’t fall there.” Marcus Washling; Lots of things we can do in the spring and summer to work our way up the mountain! “Why not us?” in 2015!!
Very proud of our cross country kids today!! Several of our varsity boys ran season best times on a challenging Regional course. These guys finished 17th, and the good news is that none of them graduate. They will be back next year ready to do some work in Region 1.
The Varsity girls continued their win streak by claiming the Region 1 Title. They finished with 95 total points (2nd was Brady with 170, 3rd Sonora with 200 and 4th Kermit 209). The girls stepped up and ran great. They EARNED a trip to the state meet next weekend at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Complete Regional results can be found by clicking the link below.
Complete information for the UIL State Cross Country meet can be accessed through the UIL website. The link is below:
Hotel information for the state meet:
Holiday Inn Express in Cedar Park [512-259-8200]; 1605 E Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX (this is about a 15 minute drive to the course in Round Rock)
Final note–I had several people at our hotel compliment our students on their behavior. One couple from Canada were very impressed with our athletes and their conduct. This is a credit to the wonderful parents and community we have in Clyde!!
Still waiting to post the complete district results for JH, but here is a synopsis how Clyde finished:
