CONCESSION STAND WILL BE SPONSORED BY CLYDE LIVESTOCK ASSOCIATION. THE MONEY WILL GO TOWARDS THE COUNTY LIVESTOCK SALE FOR THE PREMIUM PURCHASE OF STUDENTS ANIMALS.

Clyde FFA Community Livestock Show General Rules

 Students attending Clyde C.I.S.D. or who are home schooled in C.I.S.D. and who are members of Clyde FFA or Clyde 4-H may enter.

  1.  Students who are not passing all classes from the last grade reporting period are ineligible to show according to state law.
  2. Weighing in of all animals will begin at 7:30 a.m. All animals except for steers and rabbits must be entered to the show superintendent of their division by 9:00 a.m. on the show date. Rabbits must be entered by 8:30 a.m. Weight cards for steers & heifers must be turned in by 9:00 a.m.
  3. Each division is not guaranteed to start at the designated time posted in the schedule due to number of entries. Therefore, the order of the show will correlate according to the classes as they follow each other. A lunch break will take place around noon.
  4. In weight classes, animals will be divided close to equal by the superintendent.
  5. In general, the rules of the Callahan County Show will be followed.
  6. The show reserves the right to refuse any entry.
  7. Rules will be made by the show committee consisting of Clyde FFA officers and advisors; however, any rule or anything about the show may be changed by the executive committee.
  8. Animals will remain on exhibit until all judging is completed for their division, unless the General Superintendent gives special permission.
  9. The show nor any person concerned is not, or will not be held responsible for any accidents that happen at the show.
  10. NO un-castrated male animals may be exhibited except for rabbits.
  11. If classes of goats, sheep, and swine should have an excess of eight animals that would fall in one class, they will be divided into equal classes of no more than eight. Cattle classes will be divided if an excess of six animals fall into one class.
  12. Swine should weigh between 100lbs. and 270lbs. Any over 270lbs. will be ineligible. Swine will be weighed one time. Minimum lamb weight is 80lbs. Southdown’s should be at least 70lbs. Market swine will be classed according to color.
  13. All animals must meet State Health Requirements.
  14. You must furnish your own shaving for bedding.
  15. No trimming or clipping allowed. (NO EXCEPTIONS!!)
